Unifying Play Therapies & Early Intervention Through
Neuroscience Center Mission Statement
Drawing upon recent brain and attachment research, the primary mission
of the Center is to research and develop new systems for selecting,
applying, and integrating play therapies (i.e., Theraplay-Based, Watch,
Wait, and Wonder, and traditional play therapies such as Child Centered
and Filial) with early intervention (sensory integration therapy, etc.),
for children 0-8, at-risk for attachment, regulatory, and social-emotional
disorders in clinical, school, and early childhood settings. The secondary
mission of the Center is to develop and provide high-quality therapy,
training, consultation, supervision, and related resource materials to
facilitate implementation of these new brain-based systems of early intervention
and intervention selection within clinical, school, and early childhood
settings.
